On the 24th January 2016, Enter CIC performed at the 2021 Festival for the RMTGB at the Sage, Gateshead. It was a wonderful day which culminated in a fabulous evening performance. The large-scale event was to launch the new RMTGB campaign entitled the 2021 Festival which aims to raise finance to help families and young people in need. The venue for this event was the iconic Sage, Gateshead, the impressive world-class music venue on the banks of the River Tyne. It was a stunning location to launch the fantastic campaign.
Enter CIC had the honour of opening and closing the first act. We chose to open the performance with two production numbers from our musical entitled The Wind Road Boys which recently played at The Edinburgh Festival Fringe. We closed the first act with two numbers from our WW1 musical entitled Home Fires. The audience response to these emotive production numbers was wonderful and immediate.
The evening’s entertainment featured an array of very talented performers and some wonderful inspirational speeches from the Festival Director John Thompson, The Provincial Grand Master, RMTGB president Mike Woodcock and CEO Lee Hutchinson.
The evening ended with a fabulous performance from Houghton le Spring Pipe Band who were joined on stage by Enter CIC and a whole host of other performers from the evening.
All of our young people had a fabulous time and thoroughly enjoyed the event. We would like to extend our congratulations to the RMTGB for inviting us to be part of the event and particularly to John Thompson and Peter Johnson for their wonderful support.
Congratulations to the whole of the Durham Province who have managed to raise £750,000 for the campaign. Well done to you all a very worthy and admirable cause.
Please see below for article and pictures pertaining to the event.
May I take this opportunity to thank you and the Enter team for your outstanding contribution with your time and talent at our recent Festival Launch at the Sage Gateshead in aid of our 2021 Festival for The RMTGB.
The evening was a complete success, the whole day went extremely well and the feedback has been tremendous from those who attended the night. Our social media nearly went into melt down with the positive comments.
As a province having a successful campaign is hugely important to ensure we can raise the funds and reach our target and the start we had in Gateshead has really set us on the right path.
Thank you for your support to our province and the 2021 Festival it’s greatly appreciated. I wish you and the children/young adults every success with your future endeavours which I’m sure will be very successful.
