On Tuesday, 7th August 2018, some of the young people engaged on the Over The Wire project visited The Green Howards Regimental Museum, Richmond.
Adding to their previous visit to the museum, the young people participated in a range of workshops which covered a range of topics including Uniform, Medals and Awards and Music in World War One.
Our students had an amazing day participating in workshops with with Carl and Zoe, who were extremely passionate and informative. It’s opportunities like this that are giving our students an in-depth knowledge about World War One and giving them lots of material to develop their special edition Arts Award portfolios.
I just wanted to drop you a line following the visit of your group yesterday.
Here at the museum we are fortunate that the vast majority of the groups we see are engaged and interested. However, the Enter CIC group who came to Richmond yesterday surpassed all of our expectations.
To work with a group who were well informed, enthusiastic, receptive to new ideas and who wanted to get the most out of their visit was an absolute pleasure. All of the staff here have commented on their exemplary behaviour, politeness and commitment to their work.
Good luck with your performance at the Menin Gate – I hope all goes well.
