Enter CIC fight hard to secure amazing opportunities for students studying with us. This has led to our students performing at class A theatres such as Sunderland Empire and also Gala Theatre, Durham, Auckland Castle and Durham Cathedral to name a few. We are always looking to put our talented cast on the biggest stages, so we decided to take our students to The Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The Fringe Festival is the largest arts festival in the world and the perfect setting to showcase the talents on offer at Enter CIC.

Accompanied by a professional cast we made our way to Edinburgh to perform our in house professional production ‘The Wind Road Boys’ for 8 nights at Spotlites @ The Merchant’s Hall. On Sunday 10th August we had our opening night that blew the audience away. We received some fantastic reviews:

****”…gripping…passionate…compelling…impressive…”

We know that The Wind Road Boys is well received in our communities but to receive this response from people outside of the North East is very special.

Our cast of students and professionals have been amazing attracting big crowds with their professional performances on and off stage. The average audience attendance at a Fringe show is very low. We were receiving full houses every night of over 130 audience members.

Not only were our cast busy with the 8 performances, but they were also promoting the show as much as possible by parading up and down the Royal Mile and around the streets of Edinburgh handing out flyers and talking to visitors of the Fringe. We had some street performances booked in on the Middle Stage on the Royal Mile to give the public a little taste of The Wind Road Boys. This was received very well as hundreds of people gathered to see the impressive talent on display. The performances were so good that people couldn’t move as they tried to catch a glimpse. Our cast were even asked to reduce the volume of their singing as it was interfering with other performances. This was a true testament to the efforts of our students as they were singing with no music accompaniment.

The cast even managed to squeeze in seeing an array of different shows and took part in some Ceilidh dancing. It was a phenomenal experience for everyone involved with the production and is certainly something that will never be forgotten. We certainly made an impact in Edinburgh and this is very evident in the fantastic feedback we received from members of the audience from all around the world who came to see our production.
