West End Adventure


Three of our upper school students Cameron Gough, Sean Major and Ben Richardson are getting ready to set off to London for a work experience organised by Enter CIC in the West End of London. They will be working on the acclaimed Monty Pythons ‘Spamalot’ at the Playhouse Theatre in the heart of musical theatre land. Winter Gardening


Thank you to Councillor David Farry for providing an array of bulbs to plant in the grounds of our new centre. Thank you also to the staff and children from Dean Bank Primary School for planting crocus bulbs at our new venue. Councillor Farry provided the bulbs and showed the young people how to plant them. The children were very eager to get started and we are all looking forward to seeing them grow in the Spring.

Kind Donations

We would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Margaret Walton and Gerald Slack from the Royal British Legion Club and to the audience’s kind donations. We were not expecting any donations so we were delighted to receive them. As always the money will go directly to benefiting the young people. The total of the donations amounted to £41.85. We are going to put this money into the Youth Council pot so our young people can decide how they wish it to be spent. .

Legion Performance


On Thursday 25th October 2012 students from our Upper School performed extracts from The Wind Road Boys at The Royal British Legion Club in Ferryhill. We were asked if we could present an informal sharing of work after ex-miner John Pert was unable to attend our Sunderland Empire performance of The Wind Road Boys in August 2012.
