Cast announced for Sunderland Empire

wrbcastnewsOver the past few weeks Andrea Flynn, Andrew Mcintyre and Paul Flynn have been auditioning to find the professional cast for The Wind Road Boys. We have auditioned some very talented musical theatre performers and it has been a delightful process. We have auditioned from far and wide including performers from our local region and the West End. We even received applications from performers working internationally. We auditioned many professionals including West End Performers, but after many hours of consideration and a number of recalls we can now confirm that the following actors have been cast to play principal roles in The Wind Road Boys:

Eva Quinn

Eva Quinn

Eva will play the role of Helen Highwater in The Wind Road Boys. Eva trained at East 15 Drama School. Eva has appeared in ‘Inspector George Gently’ (BBC). Eva has appeared in many theatre productions including First Draft (Live Theatre), Geronimo (Live Theatre), Home Help (Live Theatre), Letters Home (Operating Theatre). Her film credits include Resurrecting the Street Walker (Scala Productions) and Her Eyes Met With Mine (Slightly Ajar Productions). Her commercial credits include Franks Factory Carpets (Your Film) and Doritos (Hadrian Films).

Catherine Dryden

Catherine Dryden

Catherine will play the role of Mary Turner in The Wind Road Boys. Catherine trained in Musical Theatre at Newcastle College. Her television credits include ‘Wire in the Blood’, ‘A Song for Marion’ and Ali in Wonderland’. Catherine has appeared in theatre productions such as, The Birthday Blaze (Theatre Royal, Newcastle), The Song Thief (The Peoples Theatre) and Don’t Quote Me (Northern Stage).

James Hedley

James Hedley

James will play the role of George Turner in The Wind Road Boys. James is a strong singer and dancer. He has appeared in well known TV shows ‘Hollyoaks’ (Matt) and ‘Byker Grove’ (David, regular character). His film credits include Steel River Blues (Yorkshire) and The Rag Nymph (Festival Film and Television). His theatre credits include Keep Calm and Carry On (Customs House), The Hobbit (Vanessa Ford Productions), Twelfth Night (Stafford Festival Shakespeare), Peter Pan (Salford Lowry), Such Sweet Thunder (Theatre Royal Newcastle), The Young Ones (Tyne Thetare and Opera House) and Warchild (National Tour).

Marcus Lawley

Marcus Lawley

Marcus will play the role of James Waltham in The Wind Road Boys. Marcus trained at Arden School of Theatre. He is a strong singer and dancer with experience in theatre productions. His roles include Thoroughly Modern Millie (Trevor Graydon), Guys & Dolls (Nathan Detroit), Carousel (Billy Bigelow), West Side Story (Tony Wyzek) and Kiss Me Kate (Fred/Petruchio).
