On Monday 13th January 2014 Enter CIC provided an array of performing arts taster sessions for the pupils at Chilton Primary School. On Sunday 19th January we will be starting some new weekly performing arts classes at the school so we wanted to show the children the different types of activities we have on offer at Enter.
After addressing the school at assembly we taught them all a song that sounded great. We were delighted to see the teachers joining in as well!
Each year group were then taken into different workshops where they were taught songs from well known musicals, dance routines, fun games and how to warm up properly before exercise in a number of sessions carried out through the day. The workshops were designed to give a quick insight into what Enter does. However, the full programme will give the young people access to many more activities and some amazing opportunities.
In the last two years the young people on our programmes have performed at Sunderland Empire, Gala Theatre, Durham and Durham Cathedral as well as a number of community events. Our events and performances are regularly attended by dignitaries in the North East including Mrs Sue Snowdon, The Lord-Lieutenant of County Durham.
The weekly provision will be available for any young person living in Chilton. For more information about the sessions and to book a place, please call Enter CIC on 01740 655437.
