Enter CIC has become know as a positive enabler across Durham and the North East. We specialise in programmes that raise aspiration, combat social isolation, improve mental and physical wellbeing as well as developing volunteering and employment skills. We have won awards for our work with elderly communities.

Christmas Party

xmaspartynews1Saturday 22nd December 2012 was a really busy day for everyone at Enter. Not only did we have a performance of Rock Nativity to do, but we also managed to pack in a full-blown Christmas party for all of our students.xmaspartynews3

The children were speechless when they saw Herbert peer around the door and one of our youngest students couldn’t contain his excitement and decided to run and jump straight into Herbert’s arms. Of course Herbert is very used to handling this type of greeting as he causes quite a stir wherever he goes. He is quite a celebrity you know in the North East of England!

This was a very special Christmas party with a very special visitor. As everyone knows Santa and his elves are very busy at this time of year making Christmas toys for girls and boys. Despite this Andrea spoke to Santa and asked if any of his helpers could pop along to our Christmas Party.

As always Santa listened to our request and made our dreams come true. He sprinkled his magic Christmas dust and arranged for Herbert the Metrognome to attend our party to help with party games and distributing Christmas presents.xmaspartynews4

Herbert is one of four Metrognomes that regularly appear at the Metro Centre in Gateshead. The Metrognomes are household names in the North East of England and their shows at the Metro centre are attended by thousands of young people at holiday times.

Herbert was fantastic at the party and he really made a difference for a lot of young people. We would like to extend our gratitude to Herbert for taking time out of his busy schedule to attend our event and also to the Metro Centre Management for making our Enter CIC Christmas party so special.
