On Friday 6th December 2013 Enter CIC were invited to perform an array of songs at The Post Boy in the heart of the Ferryhill community. Our young people provided entertainment for local residents to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support which is a fantastic cause close to our hearts.
Once again as our young people took to the stage heads were turned as locals enjoyed the live entertainment. This type of performance was a very different experience for the audience members but one they would definitely welcome back in the future.
After the performance our young people decided it would be nice to carry on spreading good cheer so they headed up to the old miners homes in Ferryhill to perform carols outside residents homes. To finish off a great evening they then went and provided residents at Deanhurst Care Home with some well known Christmas carols that brought joy to everyone. We were absolutely delighted when staff informed us that a gentleman who doesn’t normally speak joined in with the singing.
It was fantastic to be able to showcase the talents of our young people to members of the community who would ordinarily be unable to attend our events. In the New Year we will be providing more fantastic opportunities for our young people to engage with the community with more Inter-generational projects and community events.
