On our first day in Belgium we visited the Lone Tree Crate, also known as the Pool of Peace.
It was quite difficult for us to comprehend how a World War One mine crater would eventually result in an environment with a sense of calm and beauty.
Our guide, Bruce, informed us that this mine crater will be over 100 feet deep.
