On Monday 12th August 2013, Enter CIC were invited to perform at Ferryhill’s local DIDO (Days In Days Out) group. Our Upper School members took to the stage to perform two acapella numbers and extracts from our own musical The Wind Road Boys. The local community that attend the fortnightly get togethers were completely blown away by the talent on display. After the final number our young people were asked back into the performance area where they received an amazing standing ovation and cheers from the audience.
Our young people then took to the floor where they engaged with the crowd and received some fantastic feedback from the audience members.
We would like to say a big thank you to Ann Turner for this inter-generational opportunity and her kind words of praise and encouragement to the young people. We would also like to thank DIDO and the members for the fantastic donation which will be used towards more opportunities for our young people.
Below is some of the wonderful feedback our Upper School received:
“It’s almost beyond words to express appreciation of what’s going on at Enter. It gives more senior citizens hope for the future knowing we have young people so gainfully participating in the community. Well done all!”

“Although not from a mining community, I am married to it. The performance was excellent. A few more organisations around the country like yours I’m sure would make it a much better place to live in, keep up the good work”
