Ebenezer Scrooge is a foot-stomping, hand-clapping, tear-jerking musical inspired by the second greatest Christmas story ever told. This production brings together fun, magic and pathos in a musical adaptation like no other! Ebenezer Scrooge: A Dickens of a Musical is a musical about the man, the mystery of his youth and the magic of his retribution. It’s a musical jam-roly-poly-packed with original, toe-tapping, sing-a-long musical numbers and fun and fabulous characters galore!

The production had its world premiere at Sunderland Empire on 4th December 2015. We received a Certificate of Commendation from The Lord-Lieutenant of County Durham, Sue Snowdon, for the production. You can listen to short extracts from two of the production’s songs.
- ‘Chains Await’ is Jacob Marley’s warning to Scrooge to mend his ways or…chains await him in Hell.
- ‘Always’ is Scrooge’s song, and it is the soliloquy in which he confirms to the world that his mean days are here to stay – always.
