On Monday 20th October 2014 Enter CIC were delighted to be able to welcome Horse and Bamboo Theatre Company to the Enter Centre. The theatre company brought their wonderful production of Hansel and Gretel to our centre.

Enter CIC are truly delighted to be working with the Take Off Festival in 2014 and to be hosting some wonderful professional children’s theatre in our local villages and towns. Enter CIC believe that it is vital for local communities to be able to access high quality productions in their home towns. Therefore, we are truly delighted to be hosting some wonderful professional children’s theatre in our centre.
Horse + Bamboo’s new production of Hansel and Gretel directed by Alison Duddle with support from Bob Frith
and Jonny Quick is a delicious treat of a show; dark, chewy and delicious at heart, yet coated with a sprinkle of something light, sweet and zesty. Full of succulent music and film, puppets and masks. Hansel and Gretel is a feast for the senses and clearly delighted both adults and children alike today.

As the children left the Enter Centre they were smiling from ear to ear. For many children this had been the first time they had watched a professional theatre production and many had never witnessed music, film, puppetry and masks working together before. It was clear for all to see that for a short time the children in the audience had been transported to a different time and place where imagination is King and anything is possible. The children had some fantastic questions at the end for the cast about how the set transformed and how the characters came to life.
It really is a magical thing to watch children experience theatre for the first time. We would like to extend our gratitude to the Take Off Festival 2014 team, Horse and Bamboo Theatre Company, the schools who attended the event and to all Enter CIC staff and volunteers who worked hard to make this event possible.
