Settlement Performance

Written by Paul

18th March 2013

On Saturday 16th March 2013 students from our upper school performed at The Spennymoor Settlement. The Spennymoor Settlement was established in 1930 with funds from the Pilgrim Trust and The Everyman Theatre was established in 1939. The actual theatre was built by out of work miners to provide a venue for The Everyman Theatre Group.

We were invited by the Mayor of Spennymoor Councillor George Tolley to perform at a venue that is steeped in mining heritage. The students performed extracts from our musical The Wind Road Boys and received fantastic feedback from the audience.

The proceeds raised from the show were donated to the Mayor’s chosen charity The Chyrelle Addams Breast Cancer Trust. We are delighted to be able to support such a wonderful cause.

We received some great feedback from Malcolm Marsden who is the Honorary Treasurer for The Spennymoor Settlement. Take a look by clicking the letter on the right.
