On Sunday 20th November, members of our upper school once again volunteered their time to a truly worthy cause, the Romanian shoe box appeal.
The initiative sends shoe boxes all over the world to children who may not usually get Christmas presents.
After rehearsals, upper school walked up to the Methodist Church and began to move the boxes, with the help of the congregation, from the church into the van, ready to be delivered.
After only 11 minutes, the 1000+ boxes were packed away and the congregation invited us all back inside for tea and biscuits. During the conversation, a folder containing pictures of children receiving their shoe boxes was passed around showing just how important these shoe boxes are to children around the world.
This was the fifth year that Enter CIC has helped with this initiative and it has become a permanent fixture in our calendar. The commitment of the congregation throughout the year to this cause is admirable and we are proud to support them. Our thanks go out to the congregation of the Ferryhill Methodist Church and to our upper school for volunteering their time to such a brilliant cause.
Well done to all and see you again next year!
