We are delighted to have once again been involved with the Take Off Festival 2016, which is a festival of children’s theatre organised by Theatre Hullabaloo.
The Take Off Festival is England’s leading festival of theatre for children and it once again returned to our region between 17th – 23rd October 2016, with another jam-packed week of shows by some of the most exciting theatre companies from the UK.
Enter hosted the event on the 19th October 2016, and we were delighted to welcome Travelling Light Theatre Company to our venue.
Travelling Light Theatre Company performed the theatrically acclaimed Pobby and Dingan. The play is based on Ben Rice’s acclaimed debut novel POBBY AND DINGAN about how one boy’s mission to save his family unites an outback opal-mining community. It is a funny and heartbreaking story about love, loyalty and the enduring power of hopes and dreams.
People residing in our community had the opportunity to visit the Enter Centre and to observe the work of Traveling Light Theatre Company. During the day local primary schools visited the centre and on the evening young people studying on Enter CIC’s mainstream programme were treated to a closed performance of the work.
Enter CIC were once again delighted to be able to facilitate professional theatre work in our local community. We would also like to extend our gratitude to Cllr Potts who provided some funding, which enabled young people studying on Enter CIC mainstream programme to see the production without charge.
Pobby and Dingan was well received and everyone who was lucky enough to see the performance had a wonderful theatrical experience. Please see below some lovely comments about the event:
