In July 2011, Enter CIC were successful in their application to the Big Lottery Fund and we were awarded £399,958.00. We were delighted to receive this news from Big Lottery and to hear that we had been awarded the grant. The funding helped us to meet the needs of the local community and provided us with an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people living and working in South County Durham. The Aspiration Project (TAP Into…….) engaged people using community arts initiatives.
We provided unique training opportunities for adult volunteers which in turn led to several volunteers gaining employment or engaging with further study. This type of activity was vital for encouraging social mobility and was extremely important to Enter CIC.
Community engagement is key to the work of Enter CIC. Thanks to funding we were able to design arts projects that broke down inter-generational barriers, brought people together and created community events that are reminiscent of bygone days when community links were stronger. The project rekindled the spirits and emotions of many people living and working in our community. We regularly open our local paper to find wonderful articles written about the work of Enter CIC and the people who engaged on our programmes.
