2023

2023 has been, so far, an incredible year. We’ve taken part in youth celebrations, received invitations to attend the King’s Coronation Concert, helped launch an extensive charitable initiative, and supported young people of all abilities in taking their next steps in life.

Video for North East Cadet Service

March, 2023

Our wonderful media team were commissioned by Brigadier P.J.A Baker OBE, Chief Executive of the North of England Reserve Forces and Cadet Association to create a video presentation for the associations annual AGM.

It was a great pleasure to be approached and asked to create a digital work highlighting all of the work the association has achieved over the past year with regard to their Community and Employer engagement intitiatives, Armed Forces Covenant and the Employer Recognition Scheme. The video was exceptionally well received.

King Charles III Coronation Concert

May, 2023

We were honoured to be one of four groups from across County Durham to be specially invited to attend the King’s Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle, as guests of His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of County Durham, Mrs Sue Snowdon.

Four young people from Enter (who over the years have been involved in many initiatives to help their local community) travelled to Windsor Castle on the 7th May 2023 and were honoured to attend the Coronation Concert in person. They had an amazing time.

The Coronation Concert played an instrumental role in the celebrations of King Charles the 3rd and Queen Camilla’s Coronation event. The event was hosted by Hugh Bonneville and jam packed with star studded performers including Katy Perry, Lionel Ritchie, Andrea Bocelli, Sir Bryn Terfyl, Paloma Faith, Nicole Scherzinger, Olly Murs and many more.

Our young people will never forget the experience and we are very confident they will be recalling their grandchildren with tales from the historical event.

Approved Oxford Admissions Test Centre

August, 2023

We were honoured to become an approved Open Centre for the University of Oxford Admissions Tests. We are able to facilitate all of the admissions tests as part of the application process for students hoping to start at the University of Oxford.

This year we supported hundreds of candidates all looking to improve their life chances, their CVs and their prospects generally. We are also and Approved UCAS Centre and an approved Oxford University Admissions Test centre.

Successful Autumn Exam Series

October to November, 2023

Another fantastic year (Autumn Examination Series) supporting young learners, career changers, trainees and Apprentices (and employers) to realise their goals through our one-of-a-kind exam services.

The service is growing rapidly and has expanded across the north east, into Scotland, the north west and Yorkshire. Our work with extremely vulnerable candidates has continued and we received a glowing inspection report from the regulator.

A Celebration of Youth Service

March, 2023

Some of our young people had the honour of performing in A Celebration of Youth Service at Durham Cathedral. The event was organised and hosted by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant Mrs Sue Snowdon and the Acting Dean and Precentor of Durham Cathedral, The Reverend Canon Michael Hampel. The Right Reverend Paul Butler, Bishop of Durham presided over the blessing.

Enter CIC representatives included Sky, Hannah and Crystal, supported by our wonderful staff member, Jade. Sky delivered an eloquent statement about studying performing arts at Enter and how it’s had a positive impact in her life. Hannah read a poem entitled, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening by Robert Frost and Crystal placed a Top Hat as a symbol of Enter’s role of engaging youth with arts.

Puppetry Research Event

April, 2023

We enjoyed some wonderful performances staged as part of the Moving Parts Puppetry Festival in Newcastle. It was a true delight to watch the artists at work.

Tonight it was heartwarming to see great puppetry in our region. A huge well done to the festival organisers and all of the wonderful artists breathing life and soul into this fabulous art form. Long may it continue.

Adapted FE Programme - end of a successful (first) year

June, 2023

We have proudly supported a great many young people since our inception in 2010. Many are facing a number of significant learning, physical and mental challenges. This year we introduced our one-to-one, full-time specialist Adapted Arts and Technical Theatre FE Programme for young people with learning and adaption requirements.

Our education and examination programmes support young people with autism, microcephaly, ADHD, ASD, Aspergers, chronic fatigue, anxiety, hyper mobility, dyscalculia, dyslexia, body dysmorphia, and a range of significant physical disabilities and mental health conditions.

A huge well done to learners on our education and examination programmes, you’ve had a wonderfully successful and inspiring first year. We can’t wait to present you with your accredited certificates.

Thank you to our inspirational staff, carers and subject specialists. We are very proud of our impact and important work in this area. We’re looking forward to greater achievements in the 2023-2024 academic year.

Exam Programmes (Summer and Autumn)

May to November, 2023

Over the past 6 years of running examinations, Enter has established itself as a major private exam centre facility. We support private candidates and this year have supported over 400 GCSE and A Level subjects.

Our candidates come to us from all over the world to access our exam services. Our services are open to home educated, adult learners, career changers, resits, and even those currently in the state education system who wish to sit their exams early or who want to sit an exam their school doesn’t offer.

GCSE Art Classes

August, 2023

Our GCSE Art students are working hard on their final art project submissions. We can’t give too much away, but there’s some great work being created and wonderful imaginations being applied.

We host a range of creative and artistic learning programmes and these can be accessed through our website dedicated to exams. See below.

Remembrance 2023

November, 2023

Since 2010, Enter has been involved in Remembrance events across the country and internationally. This year we embraced the digital environment and our team developed resources to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the end of the Korean War, as well as honouring our past and present service personnel by extending our Remembrance Garden into the Virtual World.

To the naked eye, you see nothing, but using their phone, the community could scan the QR codes on our fence and see our large memorial monument, an educational resource and even follow the flight path of a squadron of spitfires making a flypast over The Enter Centre.  To our knowledge, this was the first of its kind in the UK.
